Licensing

Individual License

By purchasing a resource bundle you have an individual license. An Individual License is a license that may only be assigned to a single specific individual user “Assignee” (e.g. one specific teacher) for that Assignee’s lifetime use. Individual Licenses are non-transferable and may not be used by or reallocated to a different Assignee (for example, a teacher who purchases an Individual License can use the materials, for her or his lifetime but cannot transfer use of materials to another teacher after her or his retirement).

If a district would like to purchase materials for more than one teacher, please add additional licenses to the cart. If a district would like to purchase materials that can stay in the district and be transferred to a different teacher if someone leaves or retires, please add a classroom license to the cart.

Additional Licenses

Additional licenses are necessary when more than one teacher or “user” will be using the resources. For example, if you have two teachers that teach the heritage speakers course, you will need one license for each person who will use the materials.

Purchase the desired bundle and add this additional license to your cart for how many additional teachers will use the bundle. The first license (bundle) is sold at full price, and each additional license is discounted 10%.

The individual license and additional license stay with the teacher, so if teacher X leaves your district, the license and materials stay with that teacher. If you want the materials to stay with the district, please purchase a classroom license for how many classrooms will be using the materials.

Classroom Licenses

Classroom licenses are necessary when a district would like to purchase course materials in order to keep those materials in the district year after year even if the teacher teaching the course changes. For example, a district is starting a new heritage speakers course and would like to purchase a curriculum that will stay with the district regardless of who is teaching the course.

With a classroom license, you may transfer the materials to one assignee (e.g. a teacher within your organization) at a time, once per calendar year. You may not share materials with multiple users concurrently.

If more than one teacher will be teaching the course, please purchase additional classroom licenses. For example, if there are three sections of the heritage speakers course (all taught by a different teacher), and the district wishes to keep the materials within the district regardless of who teaches the course in the future, they would need to purchase three classroom licenses.

Resources are not to be shared with colleagues, used by an entire grade level, school, or district without purchasing the proper number of licenses.
